This is a non-modular 16A 1 way switch: a square white plate with its own heavy porcelain base behind it, screwed onto a switchboard or a box with a matching opening. The higher 16A rating makes it the usual partner for heavy points — a geyser, split AC, water pump or a 16A power socket.

Which rating do I need

The switch must be rated at least as high as the load current — a 3 kW geyser draws about 13A. The circuit also needs a suitable cable and MCB.

How to install
- Switch off the supply at the MCB and check that the wires are dead.
- Connect the incoming phase and the wire to the load to the two terminals, and tighten the screws firmly on the correct cable size.
- Place the switch in the board or box opening and fix the plate with screws through its four corner holes.
- Switch on and test.
Electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician. Heavy loads need their own circuit with a correctly sized cable and MCB.
