The 6A three-pin socket is the standard power point in Indian homes and offices. The third, larger opening connects the earth pin, so if a fault makes an appliance's metal body live, the current is carried to earth and the MCB or RCCB can switch the circuit off.

How to install
- Switch off the circuit at the MCB and check that it is dead.
- Connect line to L, neutral to N and the earth wire to the earth terminal, and tighten the screws firmly.
- Clip the socket into a free 2 module opening of the plate frame on the box.
- Fit the cover plate, switch on and test with a plug.
Electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician with the supply switched off. Always connect the earth wire to the earth terminal.
