A 2 pin socket is the simplest power outlet: two openings for line and neutral, and no earth. This modular version takes just 1 module, so it slips in beside switches at a bedside, study table or dressing table where a 2 module slot is not free.
Use it only for two-pin devices, which are built to work without an earth. Anything supplied with a three-pin plug — a fridge, washing machine or desktop computer — must go into an earthed socket, such as our 6A 3 pin, 6A multi or 6A & 16A universal sockets.

- No. Appliances supplied with a three-pin plug need an earthed 3 pin socket. Never remove or bypass the earth pin to make a plug fit.
