A motor starter switch gives a single-phase motor — usually a domestic water pump — its own ON and OFF push buttons on the switchboard. This modular version is two modules wide, so it fits the same modular box and plate as your switches and sockets instead of needing a separate starter box on the wall.
Do not rely on it for protection: no overload setting or short-circuit rating is shown on the unit. The pump circuit still needs an MCB (or fuse) of the right rating, and a starter with overload protection wherever the pump maker asks for one. It is for single-phase supplies only; three-phase motors need a three-phase starter.
Ratings run from 6A to 32A. Choose one comfortably above the full-load current on the motor nameplate and tell us the rating when you order — the unit in the photos is the 25A.

How to install
- Switch off the supply at the distribution board and confirm the pump circuit is dead.
- Check the full-load current on the motor nameplate and use a starter rating, MCB and cable to suit it.
- Connect the supply and the motor wires as marked on the unit.
- Clip the starter into a 2 module opening of the plate, fix the plate and test the ON and OFF buttons with the pump.
