Single pole (SP) tiny trip MCB, 6A to 32A — modular mini MCB for switch plates, C curve, 3000 A breaking capacity, ISI-marked to IS/IEC 60898-1.
- Mini MCB in modular switch form — 1 module wide, it fits a modular switch plate and box.
- ISI-marked, made to IS/IEC 60898-1 (printed on the side of the unit).
- 3000 A (3 kA) rated breaking capacity, marked on the front.
- C curve (for example C 6 on the 6A unit) — rides through normal starting surges.
- Rated 240 V AC, 50 Hz; protects the phase conductor of a single-phase point.
- Trips on overload and short circuit and resets with the toggle — no fuse to replace.
- Ratings 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A and 32A. Made in India.
A tiny trip MCB is a miniature circuit breaker made in the shape of a modular switch. It sits in the same plate and box as your switches and sockets, so an appliance point gets its own overload and short-circuit protection — and an on/off toggle — right at the switchboard. This single pole (SP) version is one module wide and switches the phase.
It is for per-point protection after the distribution board: its 3000 A (3 kA) breaking capacity is lower than the 10 kA of DIN-rail DB MCBs, so it supports the DB MCB rather than replacing it. It does not detect earth leakage — that needs an RCCB.
Which rating do I need
- 6A — a light, fan or small-appliance point, on 1 or 1.5 sq mm cable.
- 10A — TV, computer and small-appliance points or a geyser up to 2 kW, on 1.5 sq mm.
- 16A — a power socket, a geyser up to 3 kW or a 1 to 1.5 ton AC, on 2.5 sq mm.
- 20A — a 1.5 to 2 ton AC or a small single-phase pump, on 2.5 or 4 sq mm.
- 25A — a 2 ton AC, an oven or induction cooktop, on 4 sq mm.
- 32A — a 4 to 6 kW water heater or oven, on 6 sq mm.
Typical values with copper cable — your electrician should match the MCB to the load and the cable.
Where to use it
- Socket points for a geyser, washing machine, microwave or refrigerator.
- Adding overload and short-circuit protection to one point on a modular board.
- Offices, shops and hotels — protection for a heavy appliance at its switchboard.
How to install
- Switch off the supply at the distribution board and confirm the point is dead.
- Connect the incoming and outgoing phase to the two terminals and take the neutral straight to the load — never switch the neutral with a single pole device.
- Clip the MCB into a free module of the plate, fix the plate to the box and switch on.
Electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician. For 240 V AC circuits only — not for solar panel or battery (DC) circuits.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a tiny trip MCB?
- A miniature circuit breaker built like a modular switch. It fits a modular switch plate, protects the point wired through it against overload and short circuit, and resets with its handle after a trip.
- What does 3000A on the front mean?
- The rated short-circuit breaking capacity: the MCB can safely interrupt a fault current of up to 3000 A (3 kA) — right for a point after the DB, whose own DIN-rail MCBs should be rated higher, such as 10 kA.
- Single pole or double pole — which do I need?
- Single pole switches and protects the phase only — fine for most socket, light and fan points. For AC, geyser and pump points where phase and neutral should both be disconnected, choose the double pole version.
- Is it ISI marked?
- Yes. The unit carries the ISI mark and IS/IEC 60898-1 on its side, as seen in the photos.
- Does it protect against electric shock?
- No. An MCB trips on overload and short circuit only. Protection against shock from earth leakage needs an RCCB of 30 mA or less in the distribution board.
